winter wedding at north cadbury court
North Cadbury Court is an exclusive wedding venue in Somerset and one that lends itself perfectly to a winter wedding with its dark wood, roaring fires & atmospheric setting. We filled this stunning venue with sumptuous warming blooms & winter foliage for this December wedding.

These winter wedding flowers were based on a colour palette of blush, mocha & deep burgundy tones. December is the perfect opportunity to embrace warmth and depth in colour and embrace the seasonal blooms and winter foliage that is on offer. Our couple had exclusive use of North Cadbury all weekend and held their Hindu celebration on the Friday early evening, we dressed the mandap with floor standing arrangements to decorate the all important four pillars. Following the ceremony guests were treated to a dinner with seasonal flowers placed throughout the long banquet tables on green linen.
The church wedding was held on the Saturday so we were back at the venue early in the morning to begin flowering for the second day of the wedding weekend. Bridal bouquets were full of ivory, blush, mocha and deep burgundy flowers such as roses, mocha lisianthus, ranunculus with ruby red skimmia foliage to add that wintery feel. On the morning I included a sprig of Scottish white heather to the bridal bouquet, which was sent to the bride from a family friend, what a beautiful touch and ensured that the bouquet was completely unique and special, and of course filled with good luck!

The church is onsite and so a tiny walk away from the main house, we dressed the entrance to the church with a statement floral archway full of winter foliage branches, rich ruby red hydrangeas, berries, with scented stocks & blousy roses to life the installations. On entering the church we flowered the important aisle with beautiful meadow style florals that went the length of the aisle. Full of winter foliage and seasonal blooms, it really added such atmosphere and drama to the aisle, and creating the perfect walkway for our bride to meet her groom. At the altar stunning large stone urns were filled with an overflowing arrangement, to frame the couple as they said their vows.
After the ceremony we stayed on site throughout the day and the team and I moved the floral arch to the entrance of North Cadbury Court so that the flowers could be enjoyed throughout the whole day. The urns were also moved and the meadow aisle arrangements, ensuring that the venue really was full of beautiful flowers throughout.
So much thought had gone into the styling of the wedding breakfast from the wedding planner Claire DuMonte with all the details such as linen, candlesticks and tablewear all finely considered. Low ceramic bowls full of tumbling seasonal florals were placed throughout the long tables, alongside smaller ceramic votives nestled in between the larger arrangements. This provided a full, but natural and organic look to the tables with guests being able to look own on the arrangements and enjoy the scent and feel of the blooms throughout the dining experience. Candlelight is crucial at a winter wedding so we supplied glass candlesticks with mocha taper candles and votives on all tables.
“I want to say how grateful I am for the florals at our wedding, every single thing you created was so beautiful and better than I had imagined.”
