summer wedding at temple guiting
Our American couple flew in from the US to hold their special day in the beautiful Cotswolds opting for the quintessential English country garden wedding full of colourful pastel locally grown blooms.

Temple Guiting, The Cotswolds
The brief for this wedding was warm pastel seasonal blooms and we focused heavily around a natural, elegant look focusing on locally grown seasonal blooms throughout. Our bride and her bridesmaids carried the most beautiful hand tied bouquets full of British dahlias in soft peach, pale yellow and coral tones. The great thing about dahlias is that they grow in all kinds of colours, sizes and shapes so there really is a dahlia for everyone! Creme brule phlox, apricot cosmos were paired with blousy garden to roses to offer that unbeatable smell and texture. The bouquets also contained campanula with dainty, wispy foliage to give movement to the designs alongside oxypetalem to bring that touch of blue.
The boys wore classic tied buttonholes of dainty flowers and foliage sprigs, bound with silk ribbon and secured with a pearl headed pin.
Temple Guiting has the most stunning barn for the wedding ceremony, where we created statement floral pillars full of natural blooms and foliage. We added in slightly more darker tones to the ceremony flowers to offer more depth and drama, and really highlight the flowers against the muted cotswold stone. Using dark foliage like the continus smoke bush really makes the other paler colours pop. Floral meadows lined the edge of the barn, really enveloping the whole space in flowers creating a truly special and unique look for the wedding ceremony.

The wedding reception was held inside the main house, with one really long banquet table to host all guests. A smaller wedding because everyone had travelled over from the states, it was an opportunity to create a really intimate dining space full of summer colour. Low ceramic bowls were filled with colourful seasonal blooms, such as dahlias, cosmos and roses. August is a great month for zinnias, so I managed to get hold of some beautiful locally grown ones to use within the tables. Texture was added in the form of dainty grasses, wigelia and jasmine foliage. Placing the bowls throughout the centre of the table created a really full, floriferous look, but one that allowed for guests to enjoy their dining space and not feel overwhelmed with decorations.
Floor standing meadow arrangements lined the bottom of the tables, softening the table linen and completing the whole table scape. Muted gold candlesticks full of pastel Ester & Erik candles nestled amongst the table blooms and offered the crucial element of candlelight when dining.
