spring wedding at Pynes House

Our American couple travelled all the way from the states to hold their English country garden dream wedding at Pynes House. May is the time of year when the British flower season comes alive, with frothy cow parsley, foxgloves, lsuh green viburnum and scented sweet peas.

We worked to an elegant colour palette of blush, lilac, mocha and dusky pale blue, which complimented the muted neutral tones of Pynes House perfectly. May is the most wonderful time of year to be married and luckily our couple had their dream wedding outside facing the romantic backdrop of the avenue of oak trees.

The bridal bouquets were natural and elegant in design and contained sweet peas, orlaya, blousy roses, peonies, alongside more dainty delicate blooms like astrantia & campanula. It is so important to use a variety of different textures to offer movement and interest to your bridal bouquets, which provides the natural and organic look that is so desired. Peonies are always such a sought after wedding flower, and it is always such a special moment when you know that you will be having the first peonies of the year in your wedding flowers! Forever more, when you see peonies you will remember that you were fortunate enough to be able to carry these on one of the most special days of your life.

The boys wore tied buttonholes of dainty smaller flowers and foliage sprigs, tied with silk ribbon & secured with a pearl headed pin. Complimenting the sleek stylish look of the black tie.

The wedding ceremony took place outside, where the happy couple stood surrounded by a statement installation of seasonal lowers in rustic stone vases on plinths. A more modern design than say a floral arch, however one that still encorporate the natural beauty of English country garden style flowers. The aisle was lined with a full floral aisle of delphiniums, Larkspur, stocks, asters, campanula with lots of Cornish foliage to offer that lush green feel that late spring provides.

Our couple were truly keen to flower the whole of Pynes House, looking into flowering every special nok and cranny that may sometimes get ignored. Along with the expert help of wedding planner Olivia, Host Events, we created a thoughtful and captivating floral look throughout the whole of the venue. Large statement mantelpiece designs added atmosphere, texture & colour to each room, only amplifying the true beauty that already lies within Pynes House.

The grand staircase was flowered with a statement installation surrounding the base of the stairs and growing up the first flight of stairs. This staircase provides the most glorious entrance for a bride or groom as they make their entrance down the grand stairs, knowing that in just a few minutes they will be getting married. Next to the bar too, it is always a great place to decorate with flowers, and ensures a cohesive look happens throughout the whole venue.

Long banquet tables were dressed with low ceramic bowls with seasonal blooms, with ceramic bud vases nestled in between. This creates a full, yet natural and romanic look to the tables capes providing the guests with a really great dining experience. Coloured taper candles were added in between the flowers to add that touch of sophistication and candlelight.
