Marquee wedding flowers
Marquee wedding flowers can be some of the most spectacular flowers a florist can create! I worked with Lissie and Pip on their beautiful Somerset wedding in July, alongside Olivia of Host Weddings and Events. The marquee from LPM Bohemia was one of the most beautiful I had worked in with a gorgeous palm print lining, offering such a different look to the typical white canvas. Weddings in marquees begin with a real blank canvas so we can really go to town with florals, and we certainly did at this wedding!

Lissie opted for an elegant all ivory colour palette for her wedding focusing on soft green and darker green foliage to add depth too. July is a great month for wedding flowers with lots of seasonal beauties such as peonies, roses and sweet peas so the flowers were filled with beautiful scent and texture. Have you ever seen a more elegant bride?!

Flower girls wore dainty flower crowns and the gents wore summer blue cornflower buttonholes to complement the morning tails. A different colour to the ivory, however this was a special request from the groom and I think it worked perfectly!

The marquee was held in the grounds of the family’s beautiful home. There was a drinks reception tent, which we filled with gorgeous stone urns overflowing with natural arrangements to greet the guests and add atmosphere within the tent. The great thing about open sided tents is that you can enjoy the views of the stunning gardens too, so bringing the outside in. Great for a July summer wedding!

We created a stunning floral arch to decorate the entrance to the main marquee where the wedding breakfast was held. Filled with natural British beech foliage and delphiniums and larkspur as if they had grown up from the ground specifically for the arch. I love creating this natural design, as it really encapsulates nature itself and fits in perfectly with the British countryside. Floral arches are big news this year so I expect to replicate this design for my couples this year. It is such a great focal point, an amazing way to greet guests and the perfect photo opportunity! Who needs a photo booth when you have an arch like this?

Inside the marquee we dressed half of the tables with tall glass vases filled with a large arrangement of seasonal blooms. These vases are the perfect height as guests can still see each other beneath, never affecting conversation. Marquee weddings flowers are one of the many reasons I love my job, as you can create so much impact from florals alone.

The other half of the tables were decorated with classic low glass urns filled with stocks, roses, spray roses, sweet peas and scented eucalyptus foliage. I love the mix of tall and low arrangements in marquees as this offers a more laid-back feel, spreading the colour and interest throughout the whole marquee space.
