The seasons are a changing, at Merriscourt Barn!

Totally wowed by the photos Marcus BigEye Photography  has sent me from a recent Cotswolds wedding I flowered up at the beautiful Merriscourt in the Cotswolds! I always look forward to the seasons changing and after a summer of beautiful, soft pastel tones I was ready to get stuck into something with a little more hints of autumn! Victoria choose muted purples, lilacs and soft grey flowers and foliage for her September wedding. As you can see the colours worked beautifully with the barn and the dresses.

Victoria wanted her bouquet to have lots of texture and movement entering around plum, dusky lilac and muted purple tones. For her bouquet I used the most stunning British dahlias from a local flower farm Pipley Flowers, which totally made the bouquets. Alongside roses, deep plum scabious, astilbe, thistles, heather and lots of luscious foliage such as berried eucalyptus and mimosa.

Victoria had three bridesmaids wearing dusky lilac, flowing dresses. I added silk trailing ribbons to the bouquets, finishing them off in a stylish, luxurious way complementing the flowers to the dresses perfectly! The boys had blue thistle buttonholes, with heather, rosemary, eucalyptus and heuchera leaves, finished off with twine. Such a great match for the kilts and the tweed!

The barn is such a fabulous space to decorate with a big barn set aside for the dancing and party and the other barn for the wedding breakfast. The tables were dressed with mercury glass urns and a natural arrangement, alongside candles. These urns are a new addition to my prop collection, but are perfect for weddings offering that subtle touch of metallics in an elegant way. A single blue thistle was placed on each place setting, a special little extra touch.

Victoria had spent a lot of time creating decoration for the wedding including this table plan, I added a foliage swag to the top finishing it off nicely! The cake was also topped with a pretty little floral topper. This was such a beautiful wedding to work on and I loved delving in to these more autumnal tones. This has definitely set me up for a busy autumn of weddings! Congratulations you two, I hope you had the most wonderful day!
