Mother’s Day at The Rose Shed
Wow, what a busy weekend it’s been here at The Rose Shed with lots of lucky Mums receiving beautiful, spring bouquets for Mothering Sunday! I want to share with you some quick snaps of some of the gorgeous bouquets that went out the door today, and a few behind the scenes shots!

Mother’s Day weekend begins with a big market run collecting all of the flowers I have ordered, they come in big wraps like this and each flower needs to be conditioned. This means, all the leaves need to be stripped from the bottom of the stems and the ends snipped before putting them in fresh water for a good drink!

The workshop is then chocca with buckets filled with beautiful flowers in every colour! Until you start making the bouquets, and then the ratio of bucket to bouquet slowly begins to alter. By the end of the day you can hardly move for bouquets and it’s time to empty those buckets, which is rather satisfying!

From soft, pastel tones, to brighter, more vibrant flowers, the bouquets were as varied and unique as all of their recipients! We are spoilt with spring flowers at this time of year, I just adore these cream daffodils with their orange trumpet, alongside the lime green viburnum, coral vuvezela rose and the cream ranunculus. A bouquet like this, allows you to have a piece of spring in your home for the next week or so!

I have also used lots of anemones and roses, and each bouquet I make I always try and use something scented, which is great at this time of year. Stocks, hyacinths, narcissi are all perfect, sweet smelling, spring flowers!

My van and I have travelled over Bristol, Bath and South Glos today, and after a busy day delivering it’s time to put my feet up with a glass of something chilled! After I have finished this blog post… she says logging off! Thanks to all of my lovely customers who ordered their Mother’s Day flowers from me, and wishing all you Mums out there a well deserved day to be spoilt! xx
