Barnsley House Wedding Flowers
I have some beautiful images to share with you today of stunning wedding flowers at Barnsley House, Gloucestershire, from a styled shoot that took place last summer. Louise, from BLoved blog got in touch and asked me to provide flowers inspired by the romance of the english countryside in a soft colour palette of muted pastels, blush, jade and sage. We had two stunning dresses, both so different, so we needed two very different bouquet styles! I love the over the top, oversized hand tied bouquet which fitted perfectly with the layers of soft tulle of the most gorgeous dress. I used plenty of soft, green foliage such as eucalyptus dill and fountain grass to five the bouquet lots of texture. Blousy O Hara roses, spray roses. veronica, dahlias and David Austin Keira roses were the main stars of the bouquet! All of these flowers are perfect for a summer wedding, inspired by the english country garden look, that is so popular with brides.

The second dress we shot was a more simple, elegant, lace dress so I opted for a smaller, more simply styled hand tied posy bouquet to compliment the dress perfectly. The style of this bouquet is more round and compact, however this still has bags of texture. The muted, green hydrangeas are just stunning, sitting alongside the dahlias, roses and plenty of filler flowers such as lace cap hydrangeas and asclepias. Which bouquet do you prefer? Would you go for the statement, oversized bridal bouquet? Or the more subtle and elegant hand tied posy? Decisions, Decisions!

Louise had styled a beautiful tablescape with so many gorgeous touches, from talented local wedding suppliers. I created a large, rustic urn for the centre of the long table and then placed slightly smaller urns, either side throughout the table. The flowers were interspersed with candles placed on a pretty, floral tablecloth. In the urns I focused on using the soft, country garden style flowers such as hydrangeas, blousy roses, dahlias, astrantia, asclepias with lots of lovely foliage. Place settings were adorned with a single, sprig of plum astrantia… it really is these special, finishing touches that make all the difference to your wedding table.

Barnsley House has a beautiful stone temple, surrounded by stunning garden which are so well kept. A dressing table was set up in front of the table and filled with a selection of cakes from Marie Green, I can vouch that they taste as good as they look! I made a foliage swag of eucalyptus, fern and olive, which we placed over the mirror of the dressing table. A few of the urns were also placed amongst the cakes to add colour and texture to the table, and I love how I filled the draws with the hydrangeas and foliage. A different way to display your cake to it’s truest potential at your wedding!
