Cripps Barn Wedding Flowers – Fiona and Jeremy
I am not sure you can get a more beautiful barn suited to an autumn wedding flowers than Cripps Barn, in the Cotswolds. It’s one of my favourite places to decorate, and that’s not just because they have an open fire lit whilst you work! Fiona and Jeremy were married in the beautiful church in Bibury and then held their reception at Cripps Barn. It was an absolute pleasure working on these wedding flowers, the main focus being lots of rustic foliage, fillers and textures with accents of flowers throughout.

Fiona’s bouquet featured white ranunculus, alongside astrantia, limonium, white thistle, green hypericum berries with eucalutpus foliage. She wanted the look to use lots of natural, rustic elements yet using the white ranunculus as the main flower. I tied the stems with hessian and twine finishing off the look perfectly. Her bridesmaids also wore floral circlets containing spray roses, white heather, wax flower, rosemary and ivy leaves.

At the church I tied simple trailing bunches of ivy to the pews and placed Olive trees in hessian planted at the church entrance. Fiona wanted to concentrate on decorating the barn where I attached a foliage garland to the mantelpiece which was filled with lots of candles. The tables were filled with kilner jars containing a loose bunch of ivory roses, wax, limonium, lisianthus and thistles. A simple look, but one still offering plenty of colour and interest to the tables.

I love the wooden crates which I filled with all of the above flowers, plus some beautiful green hydrangeas, twigs, berries with ivy trails working their way through the crates. These were great focal points which sat between the main barn and the dining area.

Cripps Barn has two pulleys in the ceiling which allow you to make large hanging floral arrangements. These offer great impact and fill the ceiling part of the barn, the rustic filler flowers of wax flower, gyp, limonium and thistles amongst lots of various foliage worked well against the stone of the barn and would definitely provide the wow factor the couple were looking for! Congratulations to you both, I loved working on your wedding flowers with you!
