Wedding Flowers at Coombe Lodge, Bristol – Chan and Andy
It is always a pleasure to visit Coombe Lodge with wedding flowers, however this time I have to be ever so slightly bias and say I loved each and every bloom in this wedding! Chan was a delight when we first met as we scrolled through her Pinterest board filled with lots of pretty wedding flower ideas. Chan and Andy wanted to stick to pale peach, blush and ivory seasonal blooms a very popular colour combination at the moment, however one that I think is so timeless and elegant it will withstand the fashions of today and still look beautiful in years to come.

Chans hand tied bouquet was filled with my all time favourite white ‘O Hara’ roses (when I get married next year these are going to be everywhere!) white dahlias, peach spray roses and talea roses. I added in soft astilbe, senecio, astrantia and berried eucalyptus for texture and interest finishing off the stems with ivory ribbon.

For the bridesmaids bouquets I added in a touch of stronger peach in the form of peach avalanche roses which added more depth and a slight different aspect than the main bridal bouquet, yet still with that soft, romantic look. The boys had buttonholes of tiny mixed various flowers finished off with twine.

The wedding ceremony was lucky enough to be outside at Coombe Lodge on a beautiful August summers day so I placed large urn arrangements filled with seasonal blooms such as larkspur, lisianthus and hydrangeas either side of where the happy couple would stand. The chairs were decorated with balls of gyp, which again has proven popular over the last few years. I much prefer to use it on its own rather than amongst flowers, so it is idea decoration when it comes to chair ends.

I decorated the inside of Coombe Lodge with a collection of jam jars and glass bottles filling the mantel piece, an effective way to dress the all important mantel which always cries out for decoration.

While the tables were decorated with low glass pedestal bowls of dahlias, roses, lisianthus, astilbe, snaps and lots of lovely grey foliage. I managed to get a few snaps on my I phone however I cannot wait to see the beautiful photos that Ashlee Taylor would have captured from the big day… guys if you are looking for a photographer then I would highly recommend her style, plus she’s an absolutely lovely person to boot! Big congratulations to Chan and Andy I absolutely loved working with you on your special day!!
