How to choose your summer wedding flower colours:
n
When thinking about your wedding flowers it is important to initially establish a colour palette. This can be determined from many factors. But I love to start with the season first. Here we have an August wedding and so colour can be important, your wedding flowers can reflect the (hopefully) sunny months you are getting married in. Think about any particular favourite flowers that you love? Can you incorporate these? I adore these bright, yet tasteful summer wedding flowers. Warm coral, pale peach, pale blue and warm pink tones. Aren’t they just stunning?!

Bridal Bouquets:

The bouquets were filled with natural, country garden style blooms such as blousy garden roses. Including the absolutely beautiful rose varieties ‘Romantic Antique’ and ‘Caramel Antique’. These roses are spectacular, a really luxurious bloom that will elevate your bridal bouquets to that higher level. I added sweet peas for their pretty, delicate nature and of course their stunning scent. Oxypetalum for the pale blue and of course British dahlias. British dahlias come into their own in August and no wedding should be without them in my opinion! Pom pom, cacti, large dinner plate, dahlias come in all kinds of wonderful shapes and sizes! Making them such a versatile bloom to use in wedding flowers.

Flowers for your North Devon wedding ceremony:
n
Now more than ever, with many couples opting for a smaller ‘micro’ wedding, ceremony flowers are even more important. With less guests in your venue filling up the space, it is important to think about how to use flowers to create that feeling of intimacy and luxury in your wedding ceremony. Flower arches can be a magnificent way to dress your wedding ceremony. By framing you both as you say ‘I Do’. A tumbling, natural, elegant looking floral arch which is filled with seasonal blooms can be the perfect backdrop to your ceremony and also your wedding photos.

Here I filled this floral arch with lots of beautiful British foliage, and floral placements including roses, dahlias, spray roses in clusters at the top. With taller, more spire like blooms such as delphiniums and larkspur at the bottom. I always find this emulates nature and how gardens would grow typically! So clusters blooming and tumbling from above, and taller flowers growing up. It sounds simple, but I love to bring in inspiration from how gardens would be planted, and bring this into a wedding venue. This offers a much more natural, elegant feel to your wedding flowers and one that fits in 100% to your existing seasonal environment.

Devon Marquee Wedding:
n
I love working on marquee wedding flowers! Marquee weddings can be so versatile. You can really go to town on your florals and create something show stopping and spectacular. Or paired back and simple… depending on your marquee. Here we had long wooden banquet tables, which lend themselves perfectly to lots of various sized bottles filled with seasonal blooms. We used candle sticks with coloured candles, which offers a hugely stylish way of bringing in colour and texture, and atmosphere with candle light. If you are having sharing food on banquet tables. Then potted plants and lots of smaller vessels filled with flowers are not only beautiful, yet practical. Logistically it does not work to have wider, more fuller arrangements here, so the bottles are fab. Alternatively, you can opt for taller, statement floral arrangements, which will have huge impact within the ceiling of the marquee, and leave you with plenty of room on the tables for glasses, wine, water and cutlery etc.
