Kingscote Barn Wedding Flowers – Jessica and Rich

Who says Autumn is here?! Jessica and Rich were married this weekend at Kingscote Barn in the Cotswolds, and choose the most summery colours for their wedding flowers! Peach, coral, pale pink and ivory tones were the order of the day and one of my favourite colour combinations it was a real treat to flower their big day!

Jessica’s bridesmaids were wearing soft mint coloured dresses, so we went for soft peach, pale pink, ivory with pops of warmer coral to lift the whole colour scheme. For the bouquets I used a great selection of roses including a coral rose called ‘Vuvuzela’ some of you may remember those annoying horns from the world cup called Vuvuzelas so who knows why they named such a pretty rose this! Beautiful David Austin ‘Juliet’ roses, one of the hit roses of the last few years you can see why, when you look at the layers of ruffled petals. I also added in dahlias, sweet avalanche roses and lisianthus amongst eucalyptus, senecio and berried eucalyptus.

I dressed the church with milk churns filled with seasonal flowers, natural tied posies on the pews, and I decorated one of the church pedestals in situ… a large sheet to catch all the off cuts and a dustpan and brush in hand are tools of the trade to creating flower arrangements on site! Jessica and Rich choose Kingscote Barn to hold their wedding reception, an absolutely stunning barn in the Cotswolds countryside. I love the drive down to the venue, which is surrounded by fields.. at this time of year the hay bales have been made and sat patiently to be moved!

To dress the tables I used a mix of tall glass vases, and clusters of glass bottles throughout the room. This is a great idea when decorating a venue, as the colour of the flowers can be spread throughout various levels! Large kilner jars were also placed around various points of the barn such as the alcoves and barn, with the mezzanine balcony having a foliage and gyp garland decorating the space.

I received a lovely email from Jessica the morning after the wedding saying thanks! Such a lovely surprise when you know all your hard work has been enjoyed and contributed to a very special day of the happy couple! ‘Hi Rachel, The flowers were absolutely amazing! Was so pleased with them. Walking into the barn to check the room before the meal was an absolute pleasure, Everything was spot on! I can’t thank you enough for your hard work. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!” You are so welcome and the biggest of congratulations to you both!
