Happy Christmas from this Devon Wedding Florist!

Happy Christmas from this Devon Wedding Florist! It is over and out for 2021 and what a year it has been! It has been another rollercoaster of a year for us all, just when we thought we had seen the back of the madness of 2020. 2021 continues to surprise us with just as much uncertainty, in a way that has made me learn to just have to take each day as it comes!

With my North Devon florist business primarily providing wedding flowers in Devon and the South West, we had a huge deal of postponed 2020 weddings to contend with this year. Couples who had sadly had to move, and then move again their wedding date due to the ongoing and turbulent Covid restrictions. I had one couple who had moved their date 7 times!!! That is a whole lot of extra admin from our behalf as suppliers, and a lot of stress and worry for the couples involved. It has been an absolute joy to finally see all of our couples get married this year and celebrate with their friends and family, some gatherings were a lot smaller than planned with 15 or 30 guests. Nevertheless the importance of love and getting married were never more so at the forefront than this year!

I have a few more postponed weddings in early 2022 and then our covid 'backlog' is complete! what with our existing 2021 weddings taking place this year too, it is safe to say 2021 has been a complete whirlwind of a year in the wedding industry. Suppliers have faced back to back weddings throughout the summer and have most definitely worked their socks off!

Aside from wedding flowers and how Covid has affected weddings, 2021 has been a mammoth year for my business in other ways. In July I relocated to North Devon and we now live in Ilfracombe. After growing my business for ten years in Bristol it was an important decision to make and up-sticks, but my partner is from North Devon and I grew up in Somerset so it would always have been the case to move out of Bristol! I couldn't be happier too, Betsy is loving all the coastal dog walks and I am thoroughly enjoying exploring North Devon wedding venues and already established some great relationships. I will always value my time in Bristol, however I am most definitely not a city girl so my heart is much happier down here!

A big thank you to all my couples who have consistently put their trust in me to provide them with the most beautiful wedding flowers. My job is my absolute passion and I know how lucky I am to work hard to be able to do something I love. I am so looking forward to the weddings that 2022 will bring! We will be continuing to work at our favourite wedding venues in and around The Cotswolds and Somerset, yet branching out to ventures new in and around Devon also!
