Coombe Lodge Wedding Flowers – Bristol Wedding Florist

As soon as I met with Victoria I knew I would love her wedding flowers! She had a very clear idea of what she was looking for and her ideas were exactly the kind of thing I love to do, soft peonies in pale pinks and ivory with a hint of plum! One of my all time favourite combinations and she actually found inspiration from this styled shoot I did at Coombe Lodge, that was featured on the amazing American wedding blog Style Me Pretty!

Victoria did brilliantly and planned her wedding in a few months, lucky to get a bank holiday Monday at the ever so popular Coombe Lodge we set to work on designing her wedding flowers. Victoria’s bridal bouquet has been one of my favourites this year, stunning pale pink and ivory peonies, dusky pink ‘Mentha’ roses, ranunculus and the most stunning David Austin ‘Darcy’ roses in a deep raspberry colour. I also used astrantia, lysimachia, artemis foliage, eucalyptus and trailing jasmine to add all important texture and interest. The bouquet is compact full of flower, yet with a flowing nature… In case you can’t tell already, I loved it!

Victoria had one bridesmaid and the boys wore ‘blueberry’ rose buttonholes with rosemary and eucalyptus foliage.  It was hugely important to decorate Coombe Lodge with flowers for Victoria. I placed two of these in the ceremony room placed either side of the ceremony table. Victoria wanted her mother’s vase filled with flowers which would then be moved onto the top table. Again filled with all her lovely soft, blousy flowers I added in some foxgloves here, white lilac, clematis and deep red astilbe. I placed two of the tall glass table centres either side of the ceremony table too.

This vase was then placed on the mantelpiece in Coombe Lodge, a beautiful space just crying out for flowers and I always encourage my brides to place something here as the beautiful neutral wall is a fab backdrop.

The tables were decorated with tall glass vases with a large arrangement placed on top. Filled with roses, stocks, lisianthus, peonies, dill and astrantia they really offer impact and the colours sat beautifully at Coombe Lodge.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Victoria on her wedding, I did not mind at all working over bank holiday weekend when everyone else is having fun, if I get to work with such beautiful flowers as these!! If you are looking for a wedding florist for your wedding at Coombe Lodge or anywhere in Bristol then do get in touch I would love to hear your ideas and discuss further!
