Autumn Wedding Flowers in Bristol
September is here, one of my favourite months! Especially for wedding flowers where we say goodbye to the lovely summer flowers and hello to all the lovely foliages, seed heads, and berries which add so much interest and texture when used in floral design. As a Bristol wedding florist I am lucky because we are quite close to the countryside here, getting to work in lots of wonderful wedding venues at this time of year when all the leaves start to change and the woodlands turn! With Betsy the Irish Terrier in tow we head off on plenty of countryside walks so I do not feel that I am ever far from natural, autumnal inspiration.

I want to show you this amazing colour scheme of pale pinks, dusky lilacs and warm magenta shades perfect for an autumnal wedding. These shades move on from the vintage, summer shades of pale pinks and pastels and move into Autumn with a hit of warm magenta and the addition of far more textured foliage and berries. I hope you like as I certainly do!

This brides hand tied bouquet is filled with the most amazing rose varieties ‘Blue Berry’ is the magenta shade, I have been looking for a rose like this for ages and then it popped up at the market one day! ‘Mentha’ is the parchment like vintage looking rose. New roses are grown all the time, especially with how the trend for these vintage looking roses is continuing. I also used ‘Sweet Avalanche’ which is a firm favourite of mine, a big blousy rose when allowed to open it’s soft texture is perfect in adding romance to any wedding bouquet! Blackberries are great to use within September weddings, alongside these fabulous pale pink snowberries, magenta astrantia this gives a basic rose bouquet, added oomph and interest by using them all together. Pale grey foliage such as senecio and eucalyptus are great to use in Autumn as it offers that grey, silvery texture which sits perfectly within this colour way. You may also be able to spot a rose buttonhole which has been placed with blackberries, senecio and astrantia, one for the boys!

Here is a more natural and rustic brides hand tied bouquet filled with autumnal goodness! I love this bouquet and in Autumn I feel this wild and whimsical bouquet can sit all styles of wedding as the foliage and flowers used replicate the natural environment at the time. Whether you are having a traditional church wedding, or a rustic countryside do I think this bouquet fits in equally at both. The berried eucalyptus is amazing at this time of year, coming in soft greys or the plummy/red warmer version brilliantly matching these shades used. The snowberries are aloud to shine here proudly protruding from the top of the bouquet. Astilbe, astrantia, blackberries, senecio are the backdrop for the show stopping burgundy dahlias, which are home grown by my Mum and these fantastic lace cap hydrangeas which are almost translucent.

Larger arrangements are important to think about when considering your wedding flowers. Do you have a large mantel piece that would look great dressed with flowers, or would you like larger arrangements framing you as you said I do at the altar? This is a lovely little Urn arrangement that I created with all these fab autumnal foliages and textures. Maybe not large enough for a church, or ceremony venue, this would look great placed on a side board or bar decorating the immediate space with colour.
